Oaxacan cuisine is well known for its unique, warm flavors and foods. And Mexicans are known for their rich culture, timeless traditions, and friendliness. We can’t wait to share our kitchen and our heritage with you during your special visit in Oaxaca.
The meet up is in the center city ( You will receive the location in your email reservation).
Visit the market in the center of the city. The class starts with the visit to the market, all markets in Oaxaca city are so colorful. While we explore around some areas in the market we will pick up the freshest and more traditional ingredients in Oaxaca.
Drive to our beautiful kitchen studio ( it is in the second floor of my home ). After picking up everything we need from the market, we will drive directly to our kitchen which is 20 minutes outside of the city center. Here, I will teach and guide you how to prepare our course meals for the class, explaining each step by step so you can take the tools and techniques learned in class back to your own kitchen.
What will you cook in the classes? 2 Types of salsas, 1 antojito, 1 plato fuerte and 1 postre.
Are vegetarian and vegan options available? The answer is YES! Some of the best dishes can be made vegetarian/vegan with advance notice.
You will prepare the dishes as a group, each person sharing responsibility for different steps in preparation of the course meals. Don´t worry if you are not an experienced cook, you will do it great. We are friendly so just feel free like your home.
Feel free to take notes about all the dishes, but don’t worry. Only the recipes made during class will be shared via email for you to make at home!

How long is the cooking class?
The class typically lasts approximately 5 hours including local market tour, transportation, hands-on cooking and eating all course meals.
